i read 2 news articles in the past few days... shocker right there....!!
i shared these articles with my kids... and they felt the same way i did.
OK the article was about a school here in Canada that is no longer singing our National Anthem...
why? good question ... that wasn't made very clear. apparently there are a few parents that don't approve of it. H E L L O!!! this is apart of what makes ANY country who they are a part of their identity.
Now as Canadians we are not overly patriotic... but we still have it... just quietly. But should we just roll over and let a few take away what is ours?? what is a part of us?
Our National Anthem was fought for in so many ways. it honours those who came before, our soldiers past, present and future.
for me the Singing of O Canada is beautiful. a small time where i do take 'pride' in my country.
with no O Canada... its like 11 Nov. with out Taps or no bagpipes....
As i said earlier my children also read these articles and think someone should at the very least talk to this principle... my son suggested to take him out and beat him..... my son was a little stressed by the thought of someone taking away His right to His National Anthem.
